Lawrence B. Morse

Professional Experience
Attorney Morse has served as general counsel to a state agency and as a Special Assistant Attorney General. He practiced in Boston law firms, including Weston, Patrick, Willard & Redding, handling litigation, municipal, and state agency law and Singer, Stoneman, Kunian & Kurland, where he concentrated on closely held businesses and commercial real estate.

He was honored by election in 1997 as one of two Delegates from Essex Co. to the House of Delegates of the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Current Practice
Attorney Morse represents clients in Superior Court and the Massachusetts Appeals Court. He also practices before the Federal Bankruptcy Court. Attorney Morse also represents clients before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD).

Attorney Morse is well versed in the Wages Act (MGL c. 149), the Commonwealth's laws against discrimination (MGL c. 151B), the American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and landlord-tenant law (MGL c. 186). He handles bankruptcies for individuals and businesses.

Attorney Morse represents businesses and partnerships as start-ups as going businesses, and through dissolution and merger. He maintains his substantial knowledge of closely held corporations and the special rules that apply and the rights and responsibilities of the stockholders. He has represented minority stockholders in shareholder disputes and "freeze outs" as well as majority shareholders in efforts to prevent such claims.

Attorney Morse has interest and experience regarding environmental matters as well. One example involved vernal pools and wildlife threatened by a project proceeding under the state's Wetlands Protection Act. Other matters involve Title V, the state's Septic System Regulations. Other zoning issues frequently arise in his practice.

Additional Information
Attorney Morse seeks to use the internet as a tool to best serve his clients. To his knowledge, he was the first North Shore Attorney to offer a content-based web site with FAQs on various areas of the law in 2000, something found frequently only on large law firm sites. His firm tries to offer quality legal services found at such firms at much reduced costs.
